This interesting cycling route will take us through the beautiful landscape around Vrbovec. The landscape is characterized by numerous hills with beautiful views of the surroundings.
We can easily get to Vrbovec by train or car. We recommend arriving by train (45 min. from Zagreb) because it is more romantic, especially in good company.
North of Vrbovec is a series of hills and ridges along which stretches a network of roads on which there is very little traffic. The vast majority of roads are paved with asphalt, so we have a great choice.
No need to be surprised if our joy ride takes longer than we planned. The opportunities for photography are numerous. We paused and took photos every now and then.
The route is suitable for any bike, because even a short gravel (excellent condition, May 2021) is not an obstacle for a road bike.
Regarding technical details, we should count on a steep but short ascent to Preseka, and on the mentioned gravel in Cerik, in the length of about 1.5 km.
For those who want to know more, beautiful day on a bicycle can be extend with cyclin from Vrbovec to Dugo Selo. The cycling is on flat terrain with a cake at the end, the climb to Martin Breg. Don’t despair, it is short and very sweet or sweat.
